Happy Sunday + Mini Haul

Happy Sunday guys!

Today was a really good day for me. I went to church and the guest pastor who gave the sermon did really well! I was so impressed. And, the weather today felt like it was spring.

My striped top and khaki pants are from one of my favorite stores, H&M. It's simple, yet cute.

On Saturday, the weather was so nice that I got into a dress shopping mood. I had such a hard time deciding between a navy & yellow or a red & white floral dress. (I LOVE FLORAL).

I ended up going with the navy and blue dress because I felt those colors looked really good on my skin color. I can't wait to wear it in the spring!

I also got a pair of black studded loafers. They were only $12!

Overall, I had a pretty good weekend!

How did you guys spend your weekend? Lemme know in a comment below (:

Liebster Award: Part 2

*I own none of the photos I used*

Hey guys!

A couple of weeks ago, I was so excited because I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Clarissa Z. And now, I've been nominated by the lovely Cliona and Sherli! Thank you so much guys, I love the fact that people have been actually reading my blog. Thanks again for all your nice comments.

Here are the rules:
1. You have to link back to the person who nominated you.
2. You have to answer 11 questions.
3. You have to nominate 11 blogs with less than 200 followers(Yeah it's a lot, but hey I didn't make the rules!)
4. You are not allowed to nominate the person who nominated you.
5. You must let people know that they have been nominated.

I'm going to answer the questions that Cliona asked first!

1. What are your favorite magazines to read? Seventeen and Teen Vogue because it catches me up on all the latest fashion and celebrities.

2. Who is your biggest style inspiration? At the moment, it's Lupita Nyong'o! Her fashion sense is just amazing and she's also repping Africa, woot! Love her.
Can I be her?!
3. Where is your favorite place to go to and why? I would have to say New York City because all the billboards and lights are so pretty. There's so much you can do there! And, there's a 3 floor Forever 21! <3

4. What was the best holiday you've been on? My winter break in Nigeria. It wasn't necessarily my "best" but it was my most interesting.

5. What's your favorite beauty brand? I don't wear makeup so I guess I don't have one lol.

6. 5 products you couldn't live without? I'm not sure if this is referring to beauty products, but I'll just to products in general. Trident gum, Iced tea/Lemonade Lipton Brisk, Victoria Secret Lip Gloss, Bath and Body Works perfume, and Cocoa Butter Lotion.

7. Describe your perfect Friday night. Eating out from a fast food restaurant, preferably Chipotle or Chick-fil-A, and going straight to sleep. I'm very low maintenance lol.

8. What are your most worn clothing items? My black Vans and my low waist jeans from H&M. It's very hard for me to find jeans that fit perfectly and that are long enough because I'm skinny and tall, but at the same time I have some hips, but no booty lol.

9. Who is your favorite actor or actress? Ryan Gosling, he's so HAWT! The last movie I saw him in was "The Place Beyond The Pines" and I loved it! It was packed with drama, I recommend you guys to watch it.

10. Lip gloss or lipstick? Lip gloss!

11. Why did you start a blog? I started a blog because I've always loved writing and I love the idea that I can reach people all around the world with every single post.

Now on to Sherli's questions!

1.Who is your role model and why? My role model is my older sister, Valerie, because our family has had a lot of obstacles in our way, but she didn't let any of them stop her. She used her struggles as motivation. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2012 and has now been accepted into medical school, doctor in the making! I'm so proud of her and hope to follow in her footsteps of success.

2.  What is the top topic about your blog? Anything entertainment related.

3. What are the titles of meaningful songs for you? "The Voice Within" by Christina Aguilera, "Invisible" by Hunter Hayes, "Through The Rain" by Mariah Carey, "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boys II Men, and "Daydream" and "Dear No One" by Tori Kelly. 6. Brand of fashion that you love the most? Forever 21 and H&M.

7. Name of a movie that makes you cry. Honestly, no movie has ever made me cry. But, "Titanic", "A Walk To Remember" and "Toy Story 3" have all came close to bringing out actual tears.

8. Your dream place? Disney World. I'm 17 years old and I still have never been there :(

9. Celeb crush and what do you adore about him/her? Bruno Mars! *sigh* I've been obsessed since 2010. He's so funny, adorable, sweet, humble, talented, and sexy. I swear if I met him I would DIE. That would honestly be the best day of my life. I really want to see him in concert.
MY LOVE!

10. What do you hope will happen on your blog in 2014? I hope to continue getting positive comments and feedback from fellow bloggers. I also hope to change my layout to something more personal and creative.

11. What was your dream when you were a child? My dream was to win a million dollars, and that's still one of my dreams haha.

Is It Just Me Or: Are Kendall and Kylie Jenner Overrated?

* I own none of the photos I used*

You guys have probably all seen Kendall and Kylie Jenner with their half sisters, Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians".

Yes, the girls are beautiful, but are they overrated?

Definition Of Overrated: To rate or appraise too highly.

Kendall has taken up modeling as seen in the photo above at her first catwalk at the Sherri Hill show. She recently had the honor of of gracing the runway of the Marc Jacobs show. Which later caused an uproar because she walked the runway with her bare chest! Yes, Kendall is a legal adult but, isn't this all a little too soon?

Kylie helps her sister with their clothing line, "The Kendall and Kylie Collection" at PacSun. But, she dresses like she's 24! The girl is younger than I am, and I don't even dress like that.

They even  have a novel coming out on June 3, 2014 called "Rebels: City of Indra" which is set in the dystopian future, similar to "Divergent" and "The Hunger Games".

Although the girls are trying to create a career for themselves, I feel they need to slow down and act their age.

Am I the only one that feels they are overrated? What name have they made for themselves other then "Kim Kardashian's sisters"?

Or, maybe I'm just hatin' haha.

Lemme know what you guys think in a comment below (:

I Got My First Job!

Hey guys!

Today I went to an orientation for my very first job! I'm 17 and I decided that I wanted to make money of my own in order to save up for college and buy A LOT of clothes and food lol. I'm going to be getting paid more than minimum wage, so I'm happy!!!

I'll try to sneak more photos later haha

I'm going to be working at a retirement home where I'll be serving food and cleaning (Wait Staff). I clocked in for the first time today! I was so excited for some odd reason lol.

I have one more orientation and then I find out my schedule and when I start working. I'll give you guys an update on that.

I NEVER take bathroom selfies, you can obviously tell by the awkward positioning of my fingers. I'm a newbie guys haha.

I can't decide which shoe to buy with my FIRST pay check.

OR

What was your first job? Lemme know what you guys think in a comment below (:

My New Layout!

Happy Sunday guys!

Yesterday and today, I spent most of my time trying to change the layout of my blog. I felt that it was so basic and I just didn't like it.

I searched like crazy on Google for different templates, until I found this one from Puglypixel.

I'm not technology savvy at all (even though I'm 17), so I'd like to give a big shoutout to these amazing bloggers that helped a sista out! MayranAshlee, and Kristine ! Everyone follow these girls and their fabulous blogs. (:

Now, I'm 80% satisfied with my blog layout. I just need to change my header and add a couple of things here and there.

I'm so estactic and grateful that I've been getting lovely followers, comments, views, and likes from you guys! You don't understand how much it means to me, thank you so much.

Damn, blogging is addicting!

If anyone out there has any comments or suggestions on my new layout, I'd love to hear them!

The Carrie Diaries: Season 2 Finale (*Spoilers*)

*I own none of the photos I used*
I know I'm super late, but I had to talk about this episode!

I hate goodbyes!

On the Season 2 finale of "The Carrie Diaries", Carrie, Maggie, Mouse, and Walt finally graduate from Castlebury High.

They're all going their separate ways and have to say their final goodbyes.

Although Carrie irritates me on the show, I felt so bad for her when Larissa got fired from Interview and then she ended up getting fired too! But, I think she should of thought of the future and not the present. Going to NYU would've been the best for her because no one can take away a degree from you and college would have set her up for her writing career. She wasn't completely thinking. Her dad was right, but he still went overboard in their argument. But, I'm glad they made up. I don't like seeing Papa Bradshaw angry, SCARY!

I can't believe Larissa had her wedding at an airport! Well, it does suit her crazy and bigger than life personality. Seeing Bennett in African tribal wear was priceless! I'm happy that him and Walt are back together, they're adorable.

Now, on to the Carrie and Sebastian farewell scene. It was so emotional, I almost cried! Almost. Carrie staying in New York was a good decision though, rather than going to Florida with Sebastian. But, I love them together so much!

"One day I'm going to see your name on a byline on some magazine or a newspaper, and I'm gonna know I was lucky enough to love that girl." Austin Butler, give me my heart back! Kidd+Bradshaw FOREVER.

I'm also glad that Mouse and West settled things, I always loved them together! I'm also glad that Samantha found happiness.

In the Season 2 finale, Pete starts acting fishy and Maggie finds a girl named "Jess'" number in his coat pocket. Walt: "I thought you were going to call Pete?" Maggie: I am. Right after I hear this bitch slut's voice!" Oh, how I love Maggie. Turns out, Jess was helping out Pete with an engagement ring...for Maggie! Laundry mat and all, his proposal was so cute! After all that Maggie's been through, it's great to see her happy.

There's been rumors that there isn't going to be a Season 3, nooooo! But, I've noticed that the amount of viewers has been going down.

"The Carrie Diaries" is one of my favorite shows. I love that it's set in the '80s, I love the characters, the fashion, the music, the writing, and the scenery. Am I the only one that just adores the diner scenes? CW, I NEED A SEASON 3.

I also need to get a journal and write down every single quote that Carrie said in all the episodes from Season 1 to 2. My favorite from the Season 2 finale is: "That's when I realized it isn't goodbye because it feels wonderful. It's goodbye because it feels so final, like maybe it's for good."

What did you guys think of the Season 2 finale? Lemme know in a comment below! (:

The Vampire Academy: Movie Review

*I own none of the photos I used*
I really don't know where to start with this movie, lol. I guess I'll start with how I ended up seeing it!

So, I met up my longtime friend Taylor in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. Cool thing was she had free tickets! Long story.

One day when she was in the movie theater, the theater received BOMB THREATS! So, they rushed everyone out and everyone got free tickets since they were unable to finish their movies.

Thank God nothing happened, but again we had free tickets!

We were hungry and had some time to spare.

My heart was really set on Nando's. Pause. If you've never been to Nando's, please hop in a car at this very moment because you are missing out on LIFE. Their french fries and chicken are...*checks my thesaurus* , exquisite! Lol. But, sadly the restaurant was full and my heart was crushed. I mean, what should I have expected on a Saturday night?

Taylor suggested Noodles and Company, and I had never been there so I said, why not!

Thank God there weren't any lines. And, the prices weren't too harsh on my wallet!

Taylor got the Pasta Fresca, which is penne pasta with chicken breast, tomatoes and spinach. She really loves it, and would suggest it to anyone! Our waitress didn't agree lol. She said, "It smells terrible!"

I got the Japanese Pan Noodles, which is udon noodles with chicken breast, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and a sweet soy sauce. It tasted like basic lo mein to me, but hey it was still pretty good!

(I'M SORRY FOR NOT TAKING PHOTOS! I'M NEW TO BLOGGING! I FEEL STUPID! FORGIVE ME! NEXT REVIEW, FOR SURE!)

So we're full and we head back to the theater.

The theater wasn't too full, but there were a good amount of people.

As soon as the movie starts someone yells out, "So, who got chicken?!" I don't know why, but I thought that was funny cuz it was sooo random!

Let me finally start reviewing the movie.

I thought this was funny, lol

The movie is based off Richelle Mead's novel series, "The Vampire Academy". Rose Hathaway (played by Zoey Deutch) is a 17 year old Dhampir (half human/vampire) and her mission in life is to protect her best friend, Vasillisa "Lissa"  Dragomir (played by Lucy Fry). Lissa is a royal Moroi (the peaceful vampires) and Morois are to be protected from the Strigoi (evil and undead vampires). They escaped from St.Vladimir's Academy, but are eventually taken back where they uncover many secrets and dangers that occurred while they were gone.

Rose was my favorite character throughout the whole movie. I loved her powerful personality and her sarcasm was spot on! Zoey Deutch reminds me of Ellen Page ("Juno") or maybe it's just me!

At times, the movie became slow and dragged on. Also, the writing wasn't the best. Throughout the movie, there wasn't any moment where I wanted to jump out of my seat. I was pretty much underwhelmed. I had a good laugh throughout the movie though! My friend Taylor read the novels and she said that they stayed true to the books.

I heard it didn't do so hot in the box office and got a lot of negative reviews.

If you're a fan of teen vampires, a good comedy, lots of sarcasm, but no suspense, this movie is for you. I personally would watch this again...maybe once since it was funny. And plus, Dominic Sherwood who plays Christian Ozera is so hot, so it's worth another watch.

Rating: 6/10

My First Trip To Nigeria!

I realized that I haven't really introduced myself in any of my posts! So, I decided to share with you my fellow bloggers my first trip to Nigeria.

Well first off, my name is Ngozi(en-guh-z), not too difficult lol. I'm 17 years old and I'm a Capricorn (woot!) I'm a born and raised Maryland girl. My parents were born and raised in Nigeria so that would make me Nigerian-American. I love my culture, but have never been to my real home.

I finally went in December and it was such an amazing experience. I met so many family members for the first time and I felt so blessed to finally meet them.

I got to celebrate my paternal grandmother's 80th birthday, experience the markets, weddings, and restaurants, and ride around in their transportation (which was crazy but I'm not even going to get into that lol.) I wish I took more photos, but the next time I go to Nigeria I definitely will! Here are some photos from my trip, enjoy and leave some comments guys! (:

Me, my maternal grandmother, and sis
Me, my cousin Steven, and sis (His arm though lol)
